Koodli is a little village in Shimoga. The main attraction of Koodli is the ancient temple that rises up after a long winding road through paddy fields. This is the confluence of the Tunga and the Bhadra rivers. The Rameshwara temple claims 12th century etiology, but it is the Chintamani Narasimha Swamy temple that has passed down through to my family. In the shimmering heat, the two rivers meet, the temple backdrop of stone a stark contrast to the blue.
